Meet our Advisors

vNCSY advisors are university-aged young adults who facilitate programs at Shabbatons and maintain connections with NCSYers all year round.

If you feel that you have what it takes to be an NCSY advisor, contact us!

Featured Advisor Profiles

Eitan Eisen
Eitan
Eitan came to Vancouver on a Torah Tours approximately a decade ago, and since then, he’s been hooked.  Utterly useless at preparing anything in advance, Eitan (along with his partner in crime, Mutti) is often found entertaining a crowd for long periods of time. He broke many a heart with his recent engagement to Talia Williams. We wish hatzlacha to Eitan & Talia and hope to see them in the Northwest soon.  And hopefully she can remind him to bring his passport, football, suit, shaver, and assorted other paraphernalia that he usually forgets.

Shoshi Gelula
Shoshi
Shoshi came to vNCSY after participating in a Torah Tours in Edmonton! Amazed by how nice people are outside the NY metropolitan area, she decided to continue!  Shoshi is always excited! And peppy! Whenever there is a job other advisors don’t want to do, Shoshi is usually the first to volunteer for it (a certain 13 hour bus ride from Wenatchee comes to mind)!Having just graduated from Stern College, Shoshi is currently in nursing school.

Mutti Frogel

Mutti Frogel (not Frolich, Fogel, or Froogel) began doing Northwest NCSY back when most NCSYers were in diapers.  Since then, he has developed quite a following as the gentle giant with a penchant for uproarious jokes.  Aside from doing some dead-on Family Guy impressions (“Stap it, ok?  Just stap it”), Mutti is a true role model for the NCSYers. Mutti is currently enrolled in semicha at Yeshiva University.

Yonatan Frankel

Yonatan (a.k.a “Dangerman”, for reasons known only to a select few) has been known to go through withdrawal if he goes either 3 hours without speaking to an NCSYer, or 3 weeks without visiting the Northwest.  With his quick wit and obvious care for each and every NCSYer, Yonatan has quickly become a Northwest fan favorite.  He is particularly fond of 13 hour bus rides from Wenatchee, Air Canada ticket agents, and old chubby pictures of himself. Yonatan will be geeking it up as a Computer Science major during his senior year in Yeshiva University.

Shani Guttenberg

Shani (who also goes by such aliases as “Shopping Cart Shani”, “Fanny Pack Shani”, and “Cheesewoman”) never fails to liven up a shabbaton with her oddball sense of humor.  Whether she’s spacing out in a corner, eating the disposable cutlery, or leaving presents under Rabbi Ben Klein’s couch, she is sure to entertain.
We wish Shani good luck in figuring out what she wants to do with her Stern College degree.

David Teller

David Tzadik Teller came to the region in time for Whistler ’05, and quickly became a powerhouse once his self-inflicted paintball wounds healed. Often confused for a pole, Tzadik brings along an infectious enthusiasm to every shabbaton.  In fact, he often moves audiences to tears with his heartfelt renditions of Celine Dion classics.
David will require much hatzlacha and divine assistance as he rooms with Yonatan in Yeshiva University next year.

Esty Yekutieli

The Koot hails from Afghanistan, which may or may not explain her wacko sense of humor.  Esty, a former vNCSY president, has become even more unbelievable in her role as advisor and confidant.  Having come from a similar background as most of the NCSYers, Esty is uniquely capable of sharing insights to her legions of fans in the region.  As they say, “Esty is the besty” (although we’re pretty sure she made up the expression herself, we concur). Esty is currently a student at Stern College in New York.
